"The more limber you are, the stronger you can be. It's not a mystery," Tess Chiodo, instructor of a yoga class that caters to golfers, told the News Press. She pointed out that golf is a sport that involves "a lot of stretching in the shoulders and arms and twisting."

Chiodo's techniques help teach students with their emphasis on breathing, meditation, relaxation, awareness for the moment and focus, according to the news source. Furthermore, yoga helps to support good balance and spine flexibility.

One student claimed that after a month and a half of yoga, his handicap dropped six points.

Golfers and other athletes can learn yoga techniques through various studios, including Dahn Yoga classes. The benefits of this holistic healing technique are not limited to what goes on at the green. According to the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, yoga can help improve stress management, blood pressure, body composition and mood.
