Change
By DoSaNim | October 18, 2007
The only true constant is change. Through the Dahn Hak practice we learn the value of accumulating and moving energy with awareness so as not to become swamped by the ups and downs that each day inevitably goes through.
Energy generally flows in waves so consequently there are peaks and valleys to its force. The difference in the crests and troughs is the ride the unknowing person witnesses as daily life. Sometimes those waves are long and slow rolls. Sometimes the surface is choppy and the ups and downs are abrupt. As humanity continues to develop the amplitude and frequency increase and a malstrom ensues; the orderly chaos of the universe becomes more apparent and more difficult to overcome. This would be the rise in mental disorders, stemming from the stress of an ever increasing demand to do more quicker with less.
Dahn Hak Practice focuses on an integration of the brain and body drawing on the wisdom of the ancient Far East and combining it with the Western advanced knowledge. At our local Dahn center we learn how to meditate in a world that is only just barely learning the value of a meditative practice. As Western medicine continues to advance it finds more and more reasons to refer patients to the age old practice of Breathing and Relaxation. Center the mind and body. Restore your innate ability to take control of your life.
No longer do you have to be a lost person adrift in a sea of changing energy. This is our Universe and this is your life. Be an animal of the sea and move with fluidity through the constant change with disregaurd for the nature of the surface. Life is deeper and more mysterious than any of us can see from a boat or the shore.
